From 8 to 10 June 2027, Antwerp will welcome EATA 2027, the international conference of the European Asphalt Technology Association. The event brings together researchers, engineers, industry professionals and policy experts from across Europe and beyond for three days of scientific exchange, technical presentations and professional networking.

EATA is a European network of engineers and scientists working in the field of asphalt technology and pavement research. Every two to three years, the organisation holds a technical conference where recent research findings, new technologies and emerging challenges within the sector are presented and discussed. Antwerp will host the twelfth EATA meeting in 2027.

What is EATA 2027 about?

EATA 2027 will focus on the future of asphalt technology, pavement engineering and sustainable road infrastructure. The conference creates a platform where academia, industry and public-sector professionals can exchange expertise and explore new approaches to the design, performance and maintenance of road infrastructure. Topics range from advanced material testing and asphalt modification to bio-based solutions, recycling technologies, circular material use and improved methods for modelling and performance prediction. Digital innovation will also feature prominently. Research into artificial intelligence for pavement engineering, data-driven infrastructure management, smart pavements and monitoring technologies forms part of the conference scope, alongside climate resilience, low-carbon road infrastructure and new strategies for maintenance and rehabilitation.

Three days of knowledge exchange in Antwerp

The conference takes place from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 June 2027 and combines keynote presentations, technical sessions, poster presentations and interactive discussions. The programme also includes several opportunities for international networking. A welcome reception is planned for 8 June, followed by the conference dinner on 9 June and farewell drinks after the final sessions on 10 June. EATA 2027 will be held at Play Zuid in Antwerp and is hosted by the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Applied Engineering.
